About

Jonathan is a Versatile Canadian musician and educator based in London UK. As a well versed musician, able to navigate various different styles from jazz, to classical, and beyond, he has had the opportunity to perform throughout Ontario Canada and The United Kingdom as well as delivering workshops with various schools working with their saxophone sections as well as jazz ensembles. In his private studio, while he primarily teaches saxophone, he also provides lessons on the clarinet, flute, music theory, and music history.

Jonathan has had the opportunity to perform throughout Ontario at various converences and festivals including the NASA (North American Saxophone Alliance) 2019 and 2021 regional conference, the OMEA (Ontario Music Educators Association) conferences, and the Atlantic Festival of Music to name a few.

He completed his BMus Ed with Honours in May 2019 from the University of Western Ontario where he studied with Dr. Bobbi Thompson and Barry Usher.

Jazz

Seeking out to learn, Jonathan sought out multiple professors from various universities, such as the University of Western, University of Toronto, and Humber College for mentorship. He has studied under Dr Bobbi Thompson, Barry Usher, and Dave Neill. While studying at the University of Western he had the opportunity to perform with the award-winning Jazz Ensemble, Western University Jazz Combo 1, both under the Direction of Dr. Kevin Watson. Throughout his University career he has had the opportunity to perform alongside and work with notable guest artists such as Reggie Thomas, Dennis Mackrel, Jeff Campbell, Dr Andrew Bishop, and Ingrid Jensen. In addition to his studies at university, he performs in various venues with his jazz combo as well as performing as a solo artist. As a performer, he is in high demand, offering entertainment for various venues such as corporate parties, weddings, restaurants, store openings, concerts, and other various functions and events.
